Web portal
The DPRN, together with the African Studies Centre, has developed a web portal with a search facility to find development expertise in the Netherlands and Belgium. The search facility on Global-Connections.nl, based on the structure used by 'Connecting Africa' of the African Studies Centre. provides information on development experts at ministries, embassies, co-financing organisations, private development organisations and consultants. The web portal is intended to provide insight into:
- Geographical expertise (at country level);
- Thematic expertise;
- Institutional affiliation;
- Contact details; and
- Publications and reports.
Global-Connections.nl also acts as a network-supporting web portal for all ongoing DPRN processes, with facilities such as content management, discussion forums, newsletter, mailing function, etc. The web pages of the ongoing processes can be accessed through the Global-Connections home page.
Global-Connections.nl also provides access to the online library for digital publications from Dutch development organisations, Search4Dev. This website offers quick and easy access to these documents.
Search4Dev is an initiative of DPRN and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through WOTRO Science for Development. The online library has been realised by the Royal Tropical Insitute (KIT) in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam.
