Third call for proposals
For 2010, the Development Policy Review Network (DPRN) has a budget of € 300,000 to be spent on processes which are aimed at ongoing communication, debate and cooperation between experts from different sectors in the Netherlands and Flanders. The processes are to effectively result in policy reviews, increased cooperation and synergy, preferably in the form of policy-relevant research proposals and other follow-up actions. As in other years, DPRN intends to host six processes, one of which will be instigated by the DPRN Task Force. The call is for proposals to organise one of the other five processes, for which a maximum budget of € 50,000 is available. This call is open to all organisations based in the Netherlands and Flanders that belong to the DPRN target groups, i.e. research organisations, policy departments, development (branch) organisations, NGOs and businesses operating under a Corporate Social Responsibility banner. The proposals should relate to a one-year process involving at least one meeting. Since this is the last call for proposals within DPRN’s second phase, subsidies are available for one-year processes only, which need to be completed before 31 December 2010. The deadline for applications in this third and last call is 7 December 2009, 9 a.m.

What can be applied for?
Proposals can refer to a one-year process on a theme relevant for international cooperation. In this last year, priority will be given to innovative themes, international cooperation beyond the classical poverty alleviation agenda, and processes with a more international scope (e.g. European international cooperation/development cooperation). Please note that DPRN focuses on promoting communication, debate and cooperation between development experts from different sectors in the Netherlands and Flanders. This includes, of course, people from the South, but not processes that are to take place in the South. For further details see the call for proposals.
How to apply?
Proposals are to be submitted to DPRN by means of the application form for DPRN meetings and Processes, that can be downloaded here. The submission deadline for the third round is 7 December 2009, 9 a.m. Electronic copies are to be submitted both as a PDF file and a Word document. Hard copies are to be submitted without additional covers, accompanying letters and/or appendices. Proposals not respecting the word limit indicated in the format and submitted in a form other than indicated above will not be considered for funding.
